Inductive vs. Deductive Reasoning

Inductive vs. Deductive Reasoning
-Approaches that can be used to develop new theories in science or even smaller tasks.

*Using deductive reasoning requires you to begin with a general statement and become more specific as you sort through reasoned statements. You begin with one single idea and run tests and theories and you always come out with a conclusion, in which is never always right.

Example:
There is only one person in the house who eats cereal and its all been eaten. Jane eats cereal. So therefore Jane ate all the cereal.

*Using inductive reasoning on the occasion that someone wants to figure out a series of observations. Using the observations that the person detects, the person tries to come up with reasons to disprove their theory.

Example:
Every life form we know of depends on liquid water to exist; All life depends on liquid water to exist.
